Greetings!
The privacy of visitors to Cult Definition (CultDefinition.com) is important to us.
Therefore we want to let you know what types of personal information we and third parties receive and collect when you visit CultDefinition.com, and how we safeguard your information.
Cult Definition collects two kinds of information:
1) anonymous information, and
2) information you decide to provide.
In addition, several third party services also collect information. See below for details.
We never sell, trade, share or barter any personal information.
Anonymous Information
Anonymous information allows us to track the usage of this web site.
How many people visited? How many pages were read? Which pages are those? From which country did a visitor come? What type of browser did that visitor use? Does the browser have Flash and/or javascript enabled? Did the visitor come to the site via a search engine? If so, which one? And with which search query?
The information can also include your IP address and the name of your internet service provider.
Such information is used for statistical purposes, as well as to determine which parts of the website (or which topics) are more popular than others.
All these types of information are collected in two ways:
- In the log files of the web server that hosts this web site
- Via third party web site usage tracking services
- Via cookies and web beacons used by advertisers
Information you provide
In only two instances will we ask you to provide personal information in the form of an email address:
- When you use our contact form
- When you sign up for the Headlines via Email service
Use of the contact form or signing up for the newsletter are completely optional.
The email address you provide when using the contact form is only used to reply to your message, if needed. These addresses are not collected nor shared, sold or rented to/with any third party.
When signing up for the newsletter, the email address you provide to FeedBlitz, the service that sends out the newsletter, is stored to be able to email you your newsletter. Cult Definition nor FeedBlitz share, sell or rent your email address to any third party.
Other applicable privacy policies
When you visit the Cult Definition web site you may indirectly use some third party services — if they are present on this web site. For instance, we may use third party advertisements to support the website. Other third party services provide added value, such as the ability to receive update via email or via an RSS newsreader.
Each of those third party services have their own privacy policy. We encourage you to read those privacy policies to fully answer all your privacy questions.
- Amazon.com: Amazon is used to deliver relevant book titles. Some pages have a special type of Amazon advertisement embedded. Those advertisements take into account other sites that carry Amazon ads, and which you — or someone using your browser — have visited. These type of ads also take into account your buying profile at Amazon.com in order to display ads for books and other products that may be of interest to you. No personal information is shared with us by Amazon.com.
Amazon privacy policy - Google AdSense: Google Adsense is used to deliver text advertisements which pertain either to a specific article, page, category or subject. Google uses cookies — including the DoubleClick DART cookie — when displaying ads on web pages such as ours. Google’s use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads based on the internet sites you visit, enabling it to serve ads that may match your interests. You may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google ad and content network privacy policy.
Google AdSense privacy policy - Google Analytics: Google Analytics shows us where our visitors come from, and how they interact with the site. No personally identifiable information is shared. In other words, we won’t know who you are, but we’ll know how many people found CultDefinition.com via, say, a search engine, another website, or a bookmark. Google Analytics also shows us which search terms were used to find out website. All this information helps us to better understand what people like best about our site, and which site promotion efforts work best. See: Google Privacy Policy
- FeedBurner Most of our RSS feeds are routed via FeedBurner. Feedburner is operated by Google Inc., and thus employs Google’s privacy policy. FeedBurner privacy statement

Signup, confirmation and sending out those newsletters for Cult Definition is handled by FeedBlitz. While you are subscribed to the email newsletter via FeedBlitz your email address is visible to us. However, we do not use those email addresses for any purpose. FeedBlitz privacy policy
